My Strawberry Shortcake recipe book.I have had this for years, my mom bought it for me one christmas with my Holli Hobbie kitchen center.Its filled with recipes that I love to make.

I made this cake last night,the pic does not even look like the cake in person.The cake is pale pink.I guess its all the storm clouds coming in and my kitchen being dark tonight.

Pale pink icing,devils food cake and choc sprinkles.

My hubby had a piece already and he says its the best ever.Home made icing too.

Just wanted to thank all of you that wrote this week about the death of our beloved Great Dane ,Duke.It meant alot to me to receive such caring emails.I didn't make it to any pink sat posts last sat.Duke died shortly after I posted sat morning in his sleep.Left us in total shock.Dutchess is really sad,and misses her brother alot.

Last night we listed ornaments in our Lolli Shop, we are cleaning out alot of my inventory from my ebay store,I have so much left that I did through the years.I found a few of the tea set salt and pepper sets too.Have a safe weekend.Hugs,Jen

I Stood By Your Bed Last Night


I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care. I want to reassure you, that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key. I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday. To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew, in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say "good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide, I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see. Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.

Its only been a few days since you left us.So much has changed.I miss the sound of your bark when the deer are close.I miss our coffee on the porch so much every morning.Your excitment when it was time for dinner or your happiness when you got a new stuffie.Watching you roll in the grass.Watching you watch your boys with so much love in your eyes.You singing along while Marcus played the saxophone.Dutch hasn't been the same since you left.Our time was so short and you left so fast.You were the best Duke!We love you boy,and miss you.Sweet Dreams Duggin,mom dad joey marcus and mikey

I painted this note holder years ago to hang my keys.It hangs right on my fridge and super handy for writing notes.

Ducks in the pond and chicks coming down for a drink.There is a wild turkey that roosts every night in the huge tree in the background in this pic.

This is Crazy,she runs around this farm like a nut all day looking for things to get into.

This rooster is named Kicker.He walks with a skip and looks like he is kicking a football.

The first rooster is Turkin and he is a maeny!He attacks.The rooster behind him sleeps in the hens nest box at night and you can see a little bit of our Buff hen Tank who is also setting on eggs. Miss speckle is setting on eggs and won't come down at all right now.

This is one of our fancy top chicks.Isn't it just the cutest.

We loves to tear our stuffies up.....

Hunter the fawn great dane and duke is the black one.Timber is a brindle GD and he is behind Duke in the pic below.

A giveaway

I was reading some farm/chicken blogs tonight and came cross this one.A Geaogia Farm Women.Her hubby is making these awesome laying boxes and they had some wonderful sales on them so they are having a giveaway.My hens would love these.We have about 30 laying boxes but ours are made of wood.I just totaly love these though.
