Pink Sat 8/29/09

Welcome to another Pink sat.Pink Saturday,is hosted by Beverly of How Sweet The Sound.Click on her link to visit with other pink sat posters.

Well its a cool rainy morning here. Some of the leaves are changing on the trees.Yesterday I noticed alot of leaves on the pond in shades of yellow and orange. Before we know it Fall will be here.

This pink sat I thought I would show you my cross stitch I am working on.This kit has 3 cats setting in some flowers with a trellis.
I picked it out because of this one.See close up below.

I am doing this piece in memory of my Dear Phoenix who passed away last month.I miss him so much.He was our Bud.His nick name was "Buds"
I made this in 1989 and just came across it the other day while looking at my cross stitch.I am going to make it into a mini quilt I think to hang on my wall. This one I did in 1992.I love it.I only have 5 cats, but I wouldn't mind that many.LOL

I am working on this one right now,its almost done.It calls for buttons that I don't have, so I am using what I have around here.I thought this witch was cute to put in front of the moon.

Instead of the worm it shows on the front of the book. Not much stitching left on it.Then I have some really pretty halloween fabric to stitch it into a wall hanging. Thanks for stopping by,Jen

Hi Jen, Happy Pink Saturday! Thank you so much for stopping by. Well your showing my favortie thing here today, cross stitch!!!!! I've always loved the cats on the picket fence and that kit sure does look like Phoenix! Poor guy, he loved his life and hung in there for a long time. I remember he always came out to see us when we went by on the John Deer Gator. I got those Flea Market finds at the storefront next to the Corner Cafe. She's only open on Fri thru Sun. Great prices, she even has things for a quarter.
Love ya, Mom

Thanks for stopping by Jennifer.

Years ago, I did a lot of needlework...embroidery, counted cross stitch and needlepoint. I sort of miss it so I should probably pick up a couple unfinished pieces and see if I still remember how to do it!

So sorry about your sweet Phoenix but that beautiful needlework piece will be a lovely rememberance of him.
